These fish shaped cakes were created in the Meiji era here in Japan and have stayed popular all this time. There's a reason you can always find Taiyaki stands in popular areas or festivals. The biggest challenge with taiyaki is deciding which filling you want. You can put almost anything inside of them and they are so yummy.
